UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore on Monday decided to re-open Rock Garden, State Museum, Tagore Theatre and other places of touristic importance, subject to observance of strict Covid protocol. He gave the directions will presiding over War Room meeting.
Dr Jagat Ram, Director of PGIMER, informed that they have 107 covid patients, out of which 31 belong to Chandigarh, 37 to Punjab, 19 to Haryana, 14 to Himachal Pradesh and 06 are others. He said that last week they conducted 3,301 tests and 374 were found positive.
Dr Jasbinder Kaur, acting director principal of GMCH, said that from Tuesday, OPDs in medicine, dermatology, ophthalmology and physiotherapy will be commenced.
Dr Amandeep Kang, Director Health Services, stated that they tested 6,600 Covid samples, out of which 670 were found positive. She also mentioned that mobile testing facility will be introduced in ISBT-17, so that persons coming from Delhi could be checked for Covid.
Mandip Brar, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh, said that 26,230 challans have been issued against people for violation of Covid protocol. The drive against violators will be intensified, keeping in view increasing number of corona cases. Manoj Parida, Adviser to the Administrator; Sanjay Kumar Beniwal, Director General of Police at Punjab Raj Bhawan; Arun Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary Home; KK Yadav, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation; and Mandip Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner; were also present in the meeting.
