Ashiana Public School Hosts Engaging Online Workshop on ‘Parenting in the Digital Era’ for Parents of Classes III-VI

What could be more powerful for parents than being provided with information, skills, resources and tools to understand and manage their child’s needs in this technology driven era. With this aim, a special online workshop ‘Parenting in Digital Era’ was organized by Ashiana Public School, Sector 46-A, Chandigarh. The session was held for the parents of the students of Classes III-VI. The session was held on Saturday, 7th September 2024.

The session commenced with a welcome note by the school Principal, Ms. Monika Sharma who warmly welcomed all the parents and resource person. The key speaker of the event was Ms. Aparna Apte Gupta, an Executive Coach, a Facilitator and TED X speaker. During the session, Ms. Apte shared valuable tips with parents to enhance their knowledge, strategies, and resources to support and enhance the parenting skills and practices to foster healthy development, well-being, and success of their children. The session also focussed on inculcating crucial skills for parents to navigate modern life challenges such as social media, mental health and wellbeing.

The session was quite interactive and engaging thus providing a platform to the parents to share their experiences, challenges, and concerns related to parenting, and to explore and discuss practical strategies, solutions, and approaches to address and overcome parenting challenges and issues. We received positive feedback from parents, who appreciated the opportunity to learn, share, and collaborate with other parents and educators to improve their parenting skills. The school firmly believes that if parents are well equipped with the knowledge and tools on how to support their children in school and how to navigate the complexities of parenting, then their children are far more likely to be successful and achieve well in school and at home.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks by the School Director, Ms. Lalita Prakash who in her speech thanked the parents for their proactive participation and urged the parents to create a healthy bond with their children.
