Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma and India captain Virat Kohli were blessed with a daughter on Monday.
Virat Kohli took to Twitter to share the news and said that both the baby and Anushka are healthy, “We are thrilled to share with you that we have been blessed with a baby girl this afternoon. We thank you all for your love, prayers and good wishes. Anushka and the baby are both healthy and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Love, Virat.”
Congratulations poured in from fans and the sports fraternity for the celebrity couple.
The Board of Control for Cricket India also congratulated Virat on becoming a father for the first time. “Many congratulations,” the BCCI wrote.
Kohli and Anushka got married in 2017 and had announced last August that they were expecting their first child this January. Kohli was in Australia for India’s tour Down Under, but flew home after the first Test in Adelaide, with the Board of Cricket Control in India having granted him paternity leave.
