All students from Class 9 to 12 to attend school from Nov 2

Chandigarh: The education department has made all the preparations to reopen the schools from November 2. The SOP has been prepared with regard to guidelines for students and teachers which will be sent to the schools by next week. Only children from Class 9 to 12 will be called and they need the written permission of their parents.

Education Director Rubinderjit Singh Brar said that all the children from Class 9 to 12 will be called to school. A class will seat 15 person and schools that have more students will be run in two shifts. With this, 100% staff will be called.

“At present, 1500-1600 students are coming to government schools daily. If there is good response from 9 to 12, then we will plan accordingly for other classes,” said Brar.

In rural areas, nearly 50% children are attending the government schools. At the same time, in urban areas, only 17% parents have agreed to send their children to school. In GMSSS-20 and GMSSS-22, only 4 to 10 students are going to school. In Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector-27, no student is coming to the school. It is the same situation in St John’s.
