Admission process for nursery classes to start by Dec 2 in Chd

The process for admission to nursery classes in Chandigarh will commence in more than 70 private schools of the city from December 2. Along with this, admission to entry-level classes in government schools will also be started.

Due to the Covid pandemic, this time the draw of lots will be held online. It has been proposed to hold the draw of lots process through Zoom or Google Meet. By the last week of January, if the Covid situation improves, then parents will be called to the school and the draws will be held.

The Education Department, after meeting with the principals of the private schools, has prepared a common admission schedule for entry-level admission. A schedule has been prepared for admission, which will be uploaded by the schools next week on their websites following the permission from administrative authorities. Parents can get the application form for free on the school website and a registration fee of ₹100 has been fixed for submitting the application form.

All schools will have to give the complete information about the entry criterion, seats (with breakup), documents required for admission and fees, etc, by December 2. The schools have been instructed to strictly follow the Covid guidelines issued by the central government.

Guidelines to follow:

– Student’s original birth certificate (with the correct name) is required

– Attach a passport size photo with the application form. The photo should not be more than one-month-old.

– Copy of permanent address along with the application form should also be attached.

– Parents of students belonging to EWS category will have to give salary details.

Schedule of the admission process

December 2: All the convent and private schools will upload the admission schedule on the website and notice board.

December 3 to 16: Application forms will be uploaded on the school website and submitted by parents.

January 15, 2021: List of eligible applicants will be released on the website and notice board.February 1, 2021: Final merit list will be released by holding a draw.
