Chandigarh health department has capped the charges for CT scan for private diagnostic centres in city at Rs 2,000, including GST and other taxes. No separate tax should be added. The order was issued by health secretary Arun Kumar Gupta. Instructions have also been given to strictly follow the order.
If any diagnostic centre charges more than the fixed price, then action will be taken against them. Apart from this, the administration has ordered all the private diagnostic centres in the city to share their data with the health department, for which an email ID has been issued.
No private diagnostic centre will be allowed to declare any Covid positive or negative report on the basis of CT Scan without confirmation of Covid-19 testing lab, the order read.
However, on Tuesday, the Punjab and Haryana High Court said that the prices capped by Chandigarh are still on the higher side and has asked the administration to reconsider the same.
