In Mohali, five persons, including an 8-month-old succumbed to Covid- 19 and 172 persons tested positive on Saturday.
The total number of Covid 19 positive cases went up to 4,667 and the death toll went up to 99. As many as 79 people were discharged.
Of the 172 persons who tested positive, 55 are from Mohali urban, 28 from Kharar, 38 from Gharuan, 7 from Boothgarh, 28 from Dhakoli, 9 from Dera Bassi, 3 from Lalru and one from Banur.
In Panchkula, three deaths and 142 new Covid cases were reported on Saturday. The death toll stands at 28 and total tally stands at 2,941. As many as 1,171 are active cases and 1,742 have been cured. The authorities have conducted over 42,000 tests.
Most of the cases have been reported from Sector 15. Other cases have been reported from Rajiv Colony, Kalka, Haripur and across Panchkula district.
