1,80,000 persons yet to receive second dose of Covid vaccine in Chandigarh, show records: UT Administration

COVID Vaccination in UT Chandigarh During the review of COVID vaccination, it has been observed that second dose of COVID vaccination is already due for about 1,80,000 persons, who took their first dose of vaccination in UT Chandigarh.

This include about 1,20,000 persons who have exceeded the maximum gap of 16 weeks since first dose of vaccination. In remaining about 60,000 cases, the minimum gap of 12 weeks has been completed.

Hence all these 1,80,000 persons are eligible to get their second dose immediately. Each of the person is being separately contacted on the given mobile number and a drive has been undertaken to administer 2nd dose in all the above overdue cases.

The UT Administration has sufficient number of vaccines and there is no waiting time for getting the vaccination either for first dose or for second dose.

It is also mentioned that the persons who have got 1st dose from Chandigarh and then went to other places, may get their second dose from anywhere in the India and should not delay it further for their return to Chandigarh.

For last many days we were getting about three or four COVID positive cases. However, yesterday, we have tested 09 cases for COVID positive and it is serious matter for concern. All the citizens are requested to ensure that they have taken both the doses of the CVOID vaccination and also to ensure that their friends/relative/known persons are also covered.
