The Department of Education has promoted 101 TGTs (trained graduate teacher) from various schools in the city to the post of lecturer. The education director released a list for the same.
This year, from March to November, several lecturers serving regular services in government schools retired. Presently, more than 150 lecturer posts in various government schools of the city are lying vacant. At the same time, posts of 549 lecturers have been approved as 20% lecturers promoted from TGT will retire by 2021.
The last regular recruitment of lecturers in the education department was in the 1992.
